2 (count 'em two) Years Old...

Dear Asher,

Holy crap. Where has the time gone? I remember just yesterday video taping you rolling around in my belly (ignore the tv noise):

And then you were one:

And today you turn two.

You are the most amazing two year old ever. Daily you remind us how smart and funny you are. We explain things to you in the most adult manner and you understand it all. And then repeat the conversation later. You soak it all in.

You definitely have your daddy's humor. You try to make us laugh. We can see you processing it in your mind, and then 'bing' you blurt out whatever you were thinking. And it's always funny. {see this example and this example.} You are always in motion, always being crazy, and always having fun:

Here's what's been happening lately:

Height: 34" (75th percentile)
Weight: 30 pounds (75th percentile)
Head: 19"? (I didn't write this down, but it was the 90th percentile... I'm sure most of that is hair)

At this point in your life you go to daycare. You love your teachers (Brooke and Eva) and you have a friend named Lucas. I give you treats (usually caramel rice cakes) and you run into class everyday to share with him. After work when I pick you up we talk about what you did that day. Pretty much every day you say "play" and "catch with Lucas".

Your favorite foods:
1. Chicken Nuggets (and fries)
2. Spagetti
3. Waffles
4. Yogart
5. Hot Dogs

Your favorite treats:
1. Red Vines Licorice
2. Chocolate Chips
3. Caramel Rice Cakes
4. Cinnamon Bears
5. Milky Ways

You don't love candy (like your dad, and unlike your mom) and those are the few candies that you eat.

You can actually say favorite and you use this term often for mcdonalds fruit and yogart parfaits (I eat the fruit, you eat the yogart), Uncle Rory, and Lucas.

You LOVE your aunt Rachie and ALWAYS want to go play with her. You really love all your grandparents and get so excited to visit them.

Your favorite toys:
1. All Books (but especially Where the Wild Things Are)
2. iPods and Phones
3. Balls
4. Trucks and Cars (especially Mater)
5. Anything that you can take apart and put back together.

Your favorite clothes: Basketball shorts like daddy's (you get mad when we take them off in the morning)

You love all animals and whenever you see one you say "Hi!" over and over really happily. You always hug and kiss them (which is sometimes gross - buy your a boy so whatever).

You are growing so fast. We hate and love it. We want you to stay our small boy who loves us so much, but it is exciting to see how quickly you learn and progress.

You are special. We've known it all along. Most people recognize it in you right away. We hope you will always know how much we love you and that you will always love us.

Enjoy your birthday!

love,
mom & dad.

Happy Birthday Asher!! What a cute post Stacy. Asher is one lucky little boy to have you and Tom as parents. Asher is so dang cute! I can't believe he is already 2. It seems like just yesterday we were in NY visiting Heather and you told us you were pregnant. You definitely have one handsome, funny little boy. I hope his birthday was fun.

I got your invitation in the mail (it is soo cute!). We are coming to Utah over the 4th, but won't be there the 14th. :( Let's try to get together while I am in town.
