Baby number 2...

I feel like this kid needs a name. I keep thinking of it as baby #2. It doesn't even have a label (the little link at the bottom of this entry) except for new baby. Maybe one day we'll figure that out. The first step in making that happen... finding out if its a boy or girl.

I toyed with the thought of not finding out for about 2 minutes. That's how long it took me to realize Tom's mom would never let me get away with waiting. And that I would torture myself every time I saw something cute I might want to buy. So I gave that thought up.

I'd secretly been hoping for a girl. It's *probably* our last. (I want one more... Tom doesn't... he'll probably win... I should just stop with the "probablys").

I'd been having this horrible feeling that something was wrong with the baby. Likely all the anxiety compounding from everything else and rolling onto the little one. So at the ultra sound I just really wanted to know that everything was ok. The girl spent a bunch of time looking at everything. She finally said everything was looking ok and I gave a sigh of relief.

Then she stopped the little wand in a very strategic place and asked if I was REALLY sure that I wanted to know what it was. I looked up at the screen and saw this:

I couldn't even answer. Three little tears escaped... taking with them my hope of a little girl. At that point I was just happy with a healthy baby that it didn't really matter anymore. Thoughts of my amazing Asher took over and I'm happy to have another boy.

Here is his profile:

Further proof he's a little man:

I'll always wonder what life would be like with a little girl. I told Tom if this one has Asher's hair I'm going to grow it out really long and secretly try out pony tails and twists on it while he's too young to fuss over it (Asher would never let me mess with his hair now).

I may not get a shopping buddy for when I'm old, but hopefully I'll have two amazing sons to take good care of me and treat me like a princess. As I went to sit by Ash on the couch the other day, he turned to his dad and said "there's my beautiful mom." There are just some things that boys do better than girls. :)

Lost footage...

As I was looking for soccer pictures I realized that I had a whole month last year (September) that I never blogged about. I think I was too lazy to dump my camera. It also coincides with the time period that was so busy at work my hair started falling out. :(

Some of the pics were just too cute to pass up...

Addi in Idaho playing with a flower:

I remember catching this picture at just the right moment:

And these show how expressive Asher is and how he goes through a whole range of craziness in a matter of seconds:

Sergio taught him how to rope a cow and he has not forgotten this. It is something that really stood out in his mind because he has talked about it several times since then.

And one day I looked outside to see what Ash was doing and caught this...

He and Christian were jumping into the leaves that Christian's poor brothers and sisters had just raked up. They were having so much fun that no one even stopped them.

Soccer Sunday...

Tom and his friends switched from football to soccer about a year ago. They thought there might be less injuries in soccer than they had in football... yeah... umm... that was kind of true, but not really.

I started playing at the end of last year, but I had to stop about a month ago because my belly was getting too big. Well... really I got hit pretty hard by the ball and the bruise scared Tom into "suggesting" that it was time for me to stop.

This is just after I got hit and the purple hadn't really set in... but you can see how the ball hit so hard the grooves in the ball left a grid of broken blood vessels... not pretty:

I need to learn action photography better... most of these are blurry. There is either glass or netting between me and the game and the camera tries to focus on that.

For some reason Tom always manages to smack into the girls on the other teams... hmmm... maybe I should stay on the field after all...

He just plays at full speed. Running the entire field the whole time. I don't know how he does it. He loves soccer though.

Asher loves going to the games and watching us play... well mostly run around and eat candy... but he also enjoys the soccer:

Heather told me she signed up Dontae for soccer and I realized its time for Ashman to get in the game. He's going to start next week and he's really excited. He's got all the gear:

Hopefully he likes playing as much as he likes hanging out at our games!

Baby girl Macie Kate...

Baby Macie let me take her picture the other day...

Oh man... she is SOOOO cute. Tiny and perfect and wonderful.

I hated to cover up that amazing hair, but she did look cute in her little hat:

Here's baby girl in her little boots:

She would not lay on her belly for anything. We'd turn her over and she'd turn her head the opposite of me no matter how I turned her around. I finally managed to get one...

But removing the diaper was a mistake because as soon as she got a little cool air on her booty she would tinkle or poop. Little stinker...

And the little munchkin all snuggled up...

She was really good... but she was happy to be done so she could snuggle up with grandpa and be left alone.
