Back to school and cold season...

My two most unfavorite things.

Tom started school again this week and it is always such a bummer to know he's feeling the stress. He didn't even really get a summer this year either. He had to do rotations. I wish I could lighten his load, but unfortunately he's the brains and Asher is the beauty... that leaves me out.

Cold season also began this weekend for us. Ash was sneezing snot *so gross* to his chin on Friday. I took him to the doctor, but his normal ped was out, so we saw the other guy in their office. He called it "hayfever". I wasn't so sure. By Friday night the "hayfever" turned into a fever and cough. I caught it by Saturday. Super fun weekend. It was such a horrible cold that by Weds we were back at the doctor (normal one this time) for some medicine. And flu shots. With our immune systems... we take no chances.

Ash and I are headed to Idaho for the weekend. Hopefully this one will be much better than the last! Although we'll miss our hubby/daddy who is stuck working.

My attempt to be a photographer...

I tried doing this for baby Addi just for fun...

It turned out ok. Would be much better if I stopped complaining about my point and shoot camera and just stinking invested in an SLR camera. I know exactly which one I want. And how much it costs. YIKES! No wonder I'm still rolling with my crap camera. I do most of it in photoshop anyway.

A cute little smile by some miracle:

Holy 100!!!

100!!!

I'm at 100 posts!

Wow... can't believe it.

In honor of the moment I'll recap some of the things Ash has said lately that made me go "what the WHAT?"

They're just not baby talk... and that's what I'm used to hearing from him.

1. "HOLD ON Mommy."
2. "Umm... I like it!" (When I ask him if he likes something)
3. "I move out the way for her." (at the grocery store... I asked him to move for one lady, and he started moving out of everyone's way then yelling this.)
4. "Mommy... Daddy is not sharing with me."
5. "He needs a bandaid" (about Tom's friend whose parachute had problems while sky diving and was hurt badly... we told Ash he was in the hospital and that was his response.)
6. "I will fix him." (about Tom's grandpa who was also in the hospital.)

and my favorite so far:

7. "Daddy... Mommy not listening to me."

July Fun Lightning Round...

A very quick run down of the last few weeks festivities:

A night camping with Tom's family. Ash enjoyed hanging with the boys.

A trip to the zoo with daddy. One of Ash's favorite places.

The penguins were actually in the water... they usually just stand staring at the door waiting to get back inside.

Isn't Ash just adorable when he wants to be?

We still ride the bike to the park all the time.

Addi was so cute for me that she got her own picture montage:

We went to Korben's soccer championship game and saw how SERIOUS these kids (and some of the parents) are about soccer. Korben won first place. Hallee played just before him and won 2nd place. They are amazing.

Ash and Ellee played on the sidelines:

Ash thought he was a winner and tried to steal a medal:

Ellee is just as cute as ever:

Such a slacker

I've been such a slacker on this blog... partially because I've had a million things going on... partially because I've been working on this:

It's still a work in progress, but feel free to have a sneak preview:

My child is SO adult.

All day I hear... "hey Stace."

From my own child.

He has started calling me by my first name. I find it adorable.

Not so adorable... "hey Elsha," (the name of his daycare teacher). Although I don't mind it horribly, it is just odd. I wonder if he calls Elsha 'mom'?
