Ash and I were sitting at the curb today playing in the gutter water. Yes, nasty, gross, horrible gutter water. A few neighbors drove by and waved... I heard the guys next door laughing... and I kept thinking we must look like TPT {trailer park trash}. Don't judge me. I may live in the city, but I grew up in the country. I will always be a little bit of a country girl at heart. Probably a good thing since Ash is a total boy. He needs someone to dig though the dirt using sticks to look for bugs with. Luckily I have just enough tomboyishness in me to do it with him.
I've been wanting a girl so badly I forget how much fun a little brother would be for him. We'll see... got a while before I really have to worry about it!

Asher conversations...
Tom: Ash did you poop?
Ash: Yeah... (thinks)
Ash: More. (as in I gotta do more)
Tom: Let me know when you're done and I'll change your bum.
Ash: Ok. Morrow. (as in maybe tomorrow)
This one took place while I was getting him out of the car:
Me: (unbuckling seatbelt)
Ash: No Bonk.
Me: Bonk what?
Ash: No bonk head. (hits head with hand)
Me: You bonked your head?
Ash: No bonk (points to ceiling)
Me: (feeling guilty remembering how many times I've bonked his head getting him out... he's to tall now) I won't bonk it.
Ash: Doctor (as in a doctor would need to fix his head)
Me: Sorry buddy. I'll be more careful.
Ash: Yeah... (thinks)

One little monkey jumping on the bed...
On Sunday a bunch of us went to the zoo. Tyson and Crystal and all their cute kids, Christa (and baby addie in the belly), Me and Ash.
Ash loved the monkeys. Tom and I always joke that Ash is part monkey (of course meaning tom's side... obviously) (just kidding hot daddy!). Every animal we went to, he would look at, turn to me and say "monkey." Like take me back to the monkeys. Where I belong.
Hallee and Korben are getting so big. They are good kids too. Helping to push the stroller or take care of the little ones.
I didn't do a great job at getting pictures... so I stole a few from Crystal's facebook (hope that's ok!):

Asher Conversations...
Our landlord stopped by last night to check on the sprinklers. I took Ash out and he was running along the sidewalk through the water. He also stopped to look at a few sprinkler heads and make sure they weren't broken (like my landlord was doing). As my landlord left she yelled goodbye to Ash.
Donna: Bye Asher
Asher: Bye (as he stands on tip toes waving goodbye...)
Asher: Fun (as in... it was fun!)

Mother's Day... (part two)
My mom had Mother's Day the following Saturday. This was to make sure everyone could make it and we didn't have to run back and forth. Good plan. It worked out well.
Little Miss Ellee is just as cute as ever. She is the driving force behind my desire for a baby girl. She is absolutely adorable.

Her and Ash are getting along better. I think she is big enough for Ash to see a friend now... not just a baby.
My mom bought these cool scooter things. My dad put them together for the kids.

Then he had to try them out...

Ellee and Ash finally got a try:

Ash and grandpa took a spin together:

Two peas in a pod. Ash even used his new catch phrase on grandpa and called him "naughty." (his new favorite thing to yell at you)
Happy Mother's Day!

First movie...
We took Ash to his first movie. Monster vs. Aliens. He's been watching more movies at home. He loves Bolt. He will watch it two or three times a day. He really only watches about 20-30 minutes... loses focus and moves onto something else.
We get to the movie and he's really excited. He brings the pod of course... for entertainment when he gets bored.

The movie starts. I look over and he's sitting there white knuckled staring at the screen. About twenty minutes in he's done. "Down" Ready to get out of the chair. He doesn't love the loud noise. It scares him just a little. We hang out in the hall for minute to see if he wants to go back in, but no... he's done.
Worth a try.
Even when I was prego he hated movies. Every time we would go to one he would start kicking and just rolling around. I always thought I was going into labor.
Maybe one day.

Mother's Day... (better late than never)
I love being a mom... especially when they create a whole day that revolves around me and I get presents. Awesome.
I really wanted a bike. My great friend Nicole has a bike store {Pedersen's} and they had the perfect bike. I love it. It makes me want to get out and ride. Ash and I have already taken it a bunch of times.

{side note... I accidentally (ok more like inadvertently) broke the c button on my computer and every time i type a c i have to hit the button a few times to get it to work. If i start missing the c's... you'll know why.}
So... back to Mother's day. Tom had to work for a few hours. I rode my new bike with the trailer over to Tom's moms house (only like 5 miles), it was much harder than I planned for a beginner. Not bad... but I did break a sweat which is worse than our first 2-3 mile rides. I love it though.
Ash helped grandma Noralyn plant her flowers.

Tom picked us up after work and we headed to Park City to the outlets.
We get there and Ash starts a fever. This was our second trip up there in 2 weeks where we had to turn around and come home. Luckily we only live like 20 minutes away.
So begins the start of the sickness. At least it has only happened a few times in his second year. Nothing compared to his first year.
We ended up spending the rest of the day at home. I'll take it. Time at home with the little guy. Even when he's whiney, he's cute.
The countdown has begun. Less than 30 days now to b-day number 2. Sad and exciting at the same time!
