Fun with the spudnut.

We actually did have a lot of fun in Idaho this weekend. Asher loves it there and it makes me happy to make him happy. He also loves my mom and dad so much and it is nice to see them together.

We rode up with my mom and dad. My little electronics nut remembered from last year that grandpa has a DVD player in his truck and immediately wanted a movie. He lasted about 20 minutes and then he slept for most the trip.

I guess some people just aren't cut out for life on the road.

As soon as we got close he woke up and the excitement started. We saw some deer on the way up and he was pretty much bouncing in his seat.

We get there and he heads straight for the rock pile. He loves it.

Of course grandpa heads over to help:

The next morning bright and early my dad heads out to the tractor and Ash follows after. My dad lets him sit in the cab with him and shows him how to work it all.

Its great that he shows him all this stuff... but don't worry Ash totally learns it and can do it himself. The next morning they do the same thing. My dad puts Ash in the seat with him. My dad leans to one side to do something and Ash leans to the other side. To grab the control stick for the bucket. He already knows how to work it so he start raising it up. Obviously it shocked the crap out of my dad and he immediately leans over and grabs the controls. Gotta be careful... he's too smart!

The same goes for the ranger. He can totally turn it off (luckily not on!) and change the gears.

Ash had a lot of fun hanging out with my mom. She is so patient with him and just plays with him.

My brother Tyson and his wife Crystal gave Ash this for his birthday present as we left. It is a marshmellow gun. It shoots out little marshmellows. Ash took a minute to figure it out, but then he was ready to go. Danner loved it. Marshmellows galore for him to eat.

All week before we left Ash had been talking about fishing. He really wanted to use the fishing pole he got for his birthday. Luckily grandpa helped him... but every fish was so strong they broke away. Oh well...

Ash's other favorite buddy is Danner. These two really love each other. Danner normally sleeps with my parents, but he had to sleep right by the side of our bed. Anytime Ash would move he'd lay his head on the bed to see if he would wake up. And whenever Ash whined about anything he'd run over and lick his face to make sure he was ok. Ash's favorite thing to do the entire trip was to throw rocks and dirt clods up in the air so Danner could run and try to catch them. Bizarros.

Ash got a little hot... so I gave him my headband to get the hair out of his face. He prefers to wear it a little differently though:

We had a lot of fun. Wish we could go more. This picture just about sums up the entire trip:

Happy smile. Dirty face.
