A new favorite:
Ash: Guess what...
Me: What?
Ash: Chicken butt!
Ash: Guess what...
Me: What?
Ash: Chicken poo!
Ash: Guess what...
Me: What?
Ash: Poop station!
I'm not sure how the last one came around... other than he messed it up with chicken poo once. But now it's part of the routine.
Tom also taught Asher to call the dogs next door (who always bark at us) douchers. Then he couldn't remember what Tom told him to say, so he says "what was that... mediums? The dogs are mediums?"
Once again... not sure what connection there is... but that's what you get with him. Off the wall and funny.
He's also learning to say love you on his own. I never realized that he pretty much only said it when I said "say love ya dad..." or something to that effect. But then out of the blue while I was dressing him after his bath he hugged me and said "love ya mom". It was an awesome moment. No prompts... just all on his own. One of those moments that makes all the work completely worthwhile.

This is the story of...
A boy and his grandpa...

(who was a great fishing coach)
A boy and his dog...

(who Ash called his best pal and spent the weekend throwing a ball to, which was repayed with constant licking and companionship)
a boy and his fishing pole...

(which caught plenty of fish, one that got away, one which we ended up having to keep and eat, and a few that we let get away)
a boy and a snake...

(who he would have taken right from grandpa without any fear if we hadn't stopped him)
a boy and a moose...

(who Ash said "tiptoed")
a boy and his favorite thing in the whole world... his four wheeler...

(which he rode constantly)
a boy who is adorable and had the weekend of his life at grandma and grandpas in Idaho...

We had a ball and didn't want to leave. Ash spent the entire time riding four wheelers, fishing, playing with Danner, driving the ranger, doing crafts with grandma, playing with grandpa's ipad, and just playing in the dirt.

Happy Father's Day
We spent Father's Day doing what we love best on a Sunday... eating a good breakfast then going to the park.
Ash loves hanging out at the park with his dad...

The Layton park is Ash's absolute favorite because it has the digger tractor things. He loves them (although the Riverdale park with the water toys is a new favorite too).

Happy Father's Day to an amazing papa who we love so much! One day hopefully we will be able to pay you back for all you do for us...

Birthday party...
Finally... the birthday party...
The kids had fun with the pinata. The little ones didn't even dent it, but the older ones did a little better. We had to finally let them just beat it to get the candy out.

I tried the cake a week before to make sure it would work and it was totally fine... but the day of the party it was a MESS! None of the cakes came out of the pan whole. I had to piece it all together. I ran out of time and didn't finish frosting it. Yikes. And I had been keeping Ash away from the superheros all week because he had been begging me to let him play with them.
At least we had cake... it was touch and go.

Ash liked it... I guess that's all that mattered.

Ash got about a million presents. Not kidding. He was spoiled. We ended up giving them to him in spurts to play with... like one every few days because there was just so many. He loved all of them too.

Addi just liked the wrapping paper... isn't that the best age.

It was such an amazing party. We are so blessed to have such great friends and family. Thank you all for piling into our house when it started to rain (why does it rain on his birthday EVERY year?) and enduring the chaos. Ash LOVED his party and it was definitely all worthwhile.
Here he is playing superheros.

Happy birthday munchkin! We love ya!

Thank yous all around
Thank you EVERYONE for making Ash's birthday amazing. We appreciate everyone coming (and filling our little house... I didn't think it was small until I saw it FULL). We love you all.
I'll get pics up as soon as I can pick my tired butt off the couch.
