I sat on the last step for a minute today just as Asher ran by. He turned looked at me and said "mom". I took this as a "follow me thing" and stood up to follow him. He turned back around and said "sit". He wanted me to sit back on the step.
He ran away and came back a few minutes later with:
2 Potatoes
2 Cinnamon Bears
1 Milk cup
2 Binkys
[a big load for a little guy... but he tries to carry everything he can with him these days.]
He sits on the bottom step, hands me a potato, puts all his stuff down, and just looks back at me with a smile. He starts throwing his potato up and catching it. Looks back at me to make sure I understand we are supposed to be playing catch with potatos. While sitting on the steps. Strange kid. He makes the funniest games up.
{you may also be wondering... why potatoes? Ash is fascinated by all produce. He wants to "hold it". Potatoes, tomatoes, strawberries, even pineapples. Since the potatoes are fairly accessible by him he has taken to playing with them whenever possible. He gets out my pans and then moves them from pan to pan... one of which eventually ends up in the fridge so they can "cool down". He is an interesting kid.}

Asher conversations...
This was the conversation Asher and I had on our way home Easter night:
Asher: Momma
Me: Yeah?
Asher: Grandpa funny
Me: Yes he's funny
Asher: Grandpa funny
Me: I know... he's pretty funny
Asher: Grandpa trouble
Me: (laughing) yes he's also trouble
Asher: Grandpa trouble
Me: You got that one right
Asher: Grandpa nice.
They have a special bond those two. Ever since he was born he's been grandpa's little buddy.

Easter Sunday...
Easter was much funner this year. Ash gets it a little more and he thought it was a lot of fun to have easter egg hunts. We went to one at Tom's mom's work and they had a TON of candy. Ash would pick it up, put it in his basket, and Tom would grab a handful and throw it back out behind us. As much fun as that was, Ash was really more interested in throwing rocks in their pond.
On Easter morning I had a little "basket" (yes we went TPT {trailer park trash} and used a laundry basket... but it wouldn't even close to fit in the easter basket).

We went to my mom and dad's house first and hung out with my family. Ash drove the ranger around (literally... up on the sidewalk... back down into the street). He played with Korben and Hallee... and even baby Ellee. He had a hard time with Hallee and Ellee... the similarity in the names confused him. I think he thought I was calling them both Ellee.
I picked up Ellee (light as a feather compared to Ash) and Ash immediately wanted to be picked up too. I grabbed him and he looks over and says "Ellee down". I'm not sure he's as ready for a new baby as I am.
Then we went to Tom's mom's house. She had an easter egg hunt for the kids. You can see all the poor cousins lined up behind him waiting PATIENTLY for him to get a few eggs:

He eventually loses interest in the egg hunt as soon as he finds something better (like a new "mater" from grandma):

After dinner the kids were playing with their bubbles... TJ actually drank his bottle (yikes! belly ache). They were running around trying to catch bubbles on their tongue. Ash just wants to play with them so he'll do whatever they are doing.

Heather, Rachie and Colton:

Ash's Dash and Diesel shirt was courtesy of Aunt Elissa (thank you!). Miss Gracie Rae had one with a coy fish that was ADORABLE, so I was very excited for him to wear his. (and if you read this Jamie... Gracie's announcement was so very cute. I love how it had her name like you have it on her wall.)

Easter glasses...
Only a year ago...
New Swimsuit...
I bought Ash a new swimsuit and it looked a little small. I put it on to make sure it would fit and he wouldn't let me take it back off. Mr. Independent. That is his new nickname. He can talk, he can understand, and he will tell you what he wants to do.
We were going to grandmas's for dinner, but he wouldn't have it any other way.
He gave the new swimsuit a thorough testing first.
A few squats (he honestly just started doing this on his own...):

Rolling around on the floor:

His hair is also getting better... a few of the curls are finally coming back. (This is the face I get now when I say "smile"... so get used to it)

And of course... the outfit wouldn't be complete without my uggs:
